This is the fine print for Bloodthorn. None of it is a surprise if you have read the About page, but it is worth having in one place.

Who runs this

Bloodthorn is written and run by one person, Susanne Koss, from Germany, as a personal blog. The formal contact and legal details are on the Impressum page. There is no company behind it and no team.

The reviews

Every review here is my own honest opinion, written after I have read the whole book. Nobody pays me to write a review, and nobody gets to see or approve one before it goes up. How the ratings work is explained on the How I Rate page, including the times a five is really about how much a book meant to me rather than the writing. I say so in the review when that happens.

I sometimes receive advance copies of books from authors, publishers, or review platforms. That never changes the rating and it never guarantees a review at all. If I could not finish a book, or I have nothing useful to say about it, I would rather stay quiet than pad out a post.

Reviews reflect the book as I read it. Publication dates, page counts, covers, and content can change between editions, and I do not always catch every update. If something here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it.

Links to other sites

Some posts link out to Goodreads, Amazon, an author’s site, or a shop. I have no control over those pages and I am not responsible for what is on them.

A few of the outbound book links may be affiliate links, which means if you buy through one I might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It does not affect the review, the rating, or which books I choose to read. If you would rather not use an affiliate link, searching for the title yourself works just as well.

Content warnings

I list content warnings on reviews as a courtesy, drawn from the book’s own note where it has one and from my own reading. They are a guide, not a guarantee. They can miss something, and one reader’s dealbreaker is another reader’s Tuesday. You know your own limits better than I do. Please use your judgement.

Comments

Comments are welcome and lightly moderated. Be civil, keep spoilers behind a clear warning, and do not use the comments to promote your own book or blog. I remove spam, abuse, and anything that turns nasty toward an author or another reader.

Copyright

The reviews and other writing on Bloodthorn are mine. You are welcome to quote a line or two with a link back, but please do not republish a whole review anywhere else. Book covers, titles, and short quotations from the books are used under the right of quotation and remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Changes

I may update this page from time to time. The version you are reading is the one that applies.

Which law applies

Bloodthorn is run from Germany, and German law applies to these terms and to any dispute arising from the site.
