Lauren Asher Signs a Three-Book Deal With Piatkus and Avon

Book deals · Publishing news

Lauren Asher has a three-book deal on both sides of the Atlantic.

A contemporary romance deal, but worth a look for anyone who tracks where the genre is selling.

The Bookseller reports that Piatkus, an imprint of Little, Brown Book Group, has acquired a new standalone romance and two further novels by Lauren Asher. Publishing director Ellie Russell bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Kimberly Brower at Park, Fine & Brower Literary Management. May Chen and Shannon Plackis at Avon bought North American rights.

The first book is a standalone, scheduled for spring 2027. It follows two exes who ended their engagement, then both decide to take their non-refundable honeymoon and have to face what went wrong between them.

Piatkus is not new to her. It has already published six of her books, across the Dreamland Billionaires and Lakefront Billionaires series.

This is contemporary romance, not dark romance, so I am not going to pretend it is one of ours. I am covering it because a three-book deal split across two major publishers, with the UK and North American rights sold separately, says something about how much trade houses still want proven romance authors.
