On the Radar: Ana Huang Closes Gods of the Game on October 27

This one sits outside the usual Bloodthorn lane, so I’m flagging it rather than promising a review.

Enough of you read Ana Huang that The Keeper is worth a note. It’s the third and final book in her Gods of the Game trilogy, out October 27.

The Keeper is the goalkeeper’s book. Noah Wilson is the grumpy single dad of the squad, Carina Vu is the nanny, and the whole thing is contemporary sports romance with a grumpy-sunshine centre. It reads as a standalone, so you don’t need to have finished The Striker and The Defender first, though the series rewards it.

The timing is the fun part. It lands the same day as the sixth ACOTAR book, so October 27 is going to be a genuinely loud release day. Pick your preorder priorities now.

There’s a screen angle too. The full trilogy has been set up as a three-film series at Amazon MGM, with the same production team behind the Fourth Wing adaptation. No casting yet, so this is a watch-this-space rather than news, but the genre keeps getting optioned and that’s worth paying attention to.
