Apple TV Bought Rebecca Yarros’s Peculiar Stars Before It Came Out

Peculiar Stars comes out on November 17, and the series rights are already gone.

Peculiar Stars is Rebecca Yarros’s next book, a standalone contemporary romance published by Montlake on November 17, 2026. It is a return to contemporary romance after the Empyrean books.

After a sailing trip goes wrong and a cyclone hits, a woman is stranded on an island with her fiancé’s cousin and a boat crew for eighteen months. Going home brings family expectations, privilege and old secrets that threaten what they built.

Apple TV acquired the series rights before publication, after interest from several studios, according to Deadline. Apple Studios will develop it, with Yarros as an executive producer through Full Measures Productions. No writer, director or cast has been announced, and there is no premiere date.

I haven’t read it. This is a heads-up for anyone who follows Yarros outside the dragons. If you read her contemporary work, tell me whether it is the same kind of book.
